Tips for choosing great flooring

Tips for choosing great flooring

Great flooring' fits your decorating style and your daily needs, and in addition, it retains its attractive appearance and functionality for many years. Paul Morin's Floor & Wall Design offers a large selection of natural and synthetic materials that are 'tops' in durability.

Shop for high-quality flooring made of wood, ceramic, porcelain, luxury vinyl, and laminate, as well as the colorful carpet at our Ocean View, Delaware flooring store.

Wood

If you like the look of wood floors, consider engineered wood. The moisture-tolerant planks are composed of a plywood base and a layer of hardwood.

Planks click and lock together and need no attachment to a subfloor, which means they can be laid over most surfaces.

Ceramic and porcelain

Clay-based ceramic tile lasts many years, but porcelain is the superior material. Most naturally waterproof porcelain tile is glazed, with numerous styles and sizes.

Wood look and stone-look porcelain tiles are trendy, and mosaic and large format tiles are popular, too.

Luxury vinyl and laminate new floors

Multiple layer luxury vinyl and laminate planks and tiles imitate natural flooring materials. Less expensive laminate is always warm underfoot because it has a fiberboard core.

Both materials are available in standard and waterproof styles as well as smooth and textured styles.

Carpet

Instead of opting for a dark-colored carpet in a high-traffic area, consider a Berber-style carpet with a light-colored background that is flecked with dark colors.

For maximum durability, choose nylon or Triexta carpeting. In addition, you'll find brands designed for you if you are a pet owner.
